As part of our INNOVATE UK Research and Development funding in 2024, CINETOPIA conducted focused research to examine connectivity, mentorship, skills development, and networking challenges within the UK film industry.
The purpose of our research was to identify where opportunities lie to serve and strengthen the film industry, film workers, and film freelancers using smart, digital technology.
We gathered data from over 100 people within the film community, across all sections of the film industry, all career levels, and of varying socio-economic backgrounds. We also conducted 12 in-depth interviews with film workers across the UK to gather a snapshot of the industry at this time, told through real experiences.
